My Biography

Mr. Khoisan is a rapper, composer, song writer, music producer, performer, and an instrumentalist. 

Born and raised in Kenya in the Eastland’s settlement of Nairobi, Mr. Khoisan is not only a major player in music industry but a motivator, a brother’s keeper within the sphere of music for over a decade now. 

Having been influenced musically by some of the best artist from Kenya both old and new 

i.e Kalamashaka, Erick Wainaina, Susanna Owiyo, Juliani, Nyashinski, Muthoni DQ, etc. he is a testimony of an enduring artist carrying the light for this and the next generation. 

Often performing on the busting Nairobi’s underground scene, his musical journey has been that of hills and valleys. 

From the smallest stages in the middle of the ghetto to some of the biggest shows in East Africa, he has seen it all, in a sense Mr. Khoisan can be defined as resilient and defiant.   

In his rise to craftmanship he has gotten the opportunity to work with Slum Sanaa Art Centre in Mathare Slums (as a teacher and motivator for young musician and as a project coordinator) as a volunteer, ADA Studios (as a studio assistance), 

Abaki Simba (Lead Singer, instrumentalist and Cultural Practitioner), Cheif and the Marshalls (Vocalist), Box house Studio (Record Producer), Bengatronic Sound System, (Record Producer), Permanent Presidential Music Commission, Kenya Cultural Centre etc.  

With Abaki Simba he was to under see their major album release called KAZI featuring an ensemble of different artist doing various genres of music and also featured in some of the songs from the album as a member of the band. 

They were also fortunate to have also been nominated for the Sondeka Music Awards. 

On the quest to achieving his vision and dream, Mr. Khoisan has been able to address audience on different stages both home and abroad and experiment with different genres of sound. 

His massage is that of love, respect for art and art spaces, respect to all humanity and nature, black people’s economic empowerment especially those from unprivileged societies and political straggles, and Africa’s unity without borders. 

Some of these audience have been in Kilifi New Year (Kilifi Kenya), Nyege Nyege Festival (Jinja Uganda), Africa Nouveau Festival (Nairobi Kenya), Blankets and Wine (Nairobi Kenya), Sawa Sawa Festival, Nai Ni Who? Nyama MaMa, J's Bar and Restaurant, Choices Baricho, Alchemist bar and restaurant, cooperate gigs, collaborative projects in Germany and Austria just to mention a few. 

After spending time doing collaborations and working on mixtapes and singles, he officially released his solo EP project called “SIKU NJEMA” on the 25th November 2020. 

The 5-track project is nothing but a jam of master piece which tells the story of artist in different spaces and dimensions of his life. 

The project has a collection of different genres ranging from HipHop with a fusion blues, Rumba and African percussive elements. 

The songs while being composed had a collection of thought brought together to convey the massage of hope, love, endurance, optimism, unity, faith, gratitude etc. amongst the young generation of Kenyans. 

On his way to solidifying his solo career Mr. Khoisan is currently working on his second EP which is scheduled to be released before June 2021 and a podcast. 

Mr. Khoisan’s vision is to became a record executive producer, the best musician of his generation, and to inspire the next generation of artist who are still developing their skills.
